Pasha is a British bred stallion from Castell Sports Horses in Wales. Selected as a foal, he has been bought by Kington Langley Stud to introduce new bloodlines into the breeding programme. . His bloodlines really demonstrate generations of talent, with 1.60m horses on both sides.
Pasha is by the up and coming stallion Poker de Mariposas . His Sire Nabab de Rêve has been one of the best producers of showjumpers in the world for years and his sons Vigo d’Arsouilles and Kashmir van Schuttershof continue this successful line of sires. Grandsire Berlin won team gold at the World Equestrian Games in Aachen in 2006 with Gerco Schröder and has become a foundation sire. Great-grandsire For Pleasure is without a doubt one of the most influential showjumping stallions of the past decades.
The damline of Poker de Mariposa is exceptional: for years granddam Flora de Mariposa has been known as one of the best showjumpers in the world. Ridden by Pénélope Leprévost, the mare won a gold medal with the French team at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016 and won the five-star Grand Prix of Antwerp and the World Cup Qualifiers of Oslo and Lyon. Her daughter Ilena de Mariposa also performed at 1.55m level with Leprévost. Ilena de Mariposa is the dam of Poker de Mariposa, who is also closely related to former BWP champion Hermes de Mariposa.
Poker de Mariposa was the reserve champion of the BWP stallion approval and achieved a shared first place during the PAVO stallion competition. Currently, Poker shows very convincing qualities and jumps with extreme carefulness and scope.
On Pasha’s damline, he boasts the dam sire of Fruselli, who has jumped to 1.60 internationally, and more recently Holly Smiths daughter has been riding him to success as well, at the age of 13. Truly showing a temperament which has definitely been passed down to Pasha who is a delight to handle on the ground, under saddle, even covering mares he is very polite!
Pasha will start his competitive career this year. He displays a lovely natural jump over a fence, is loose in his back allowing his back end to be really impressive. He has 3 good paces, and although still finding his balance as a 4yo, is really demonstrating a fantastic attitude to his ridden work, and is a pleasure to train. We are really excited to welcome his first foals on the ground this season.
Pasha will suit a number of mares, looking to add jump, canter and height. Standing at 16.2 he has a good amount of bone, so will cross well with finer mares. His stud fee is £700 plus vat available to a limited number of mares at his first commercial season at stud.
